Aleksander Jakobčič is a lawyer specialised in peaceful dispute resolution (negotiation, mediation and arbitration) and an expert in the field of international relations and diplomacy, who has studied at various professional and academic institutions in Europe (London School of Economics and Political Science – LSE and University of London – Law, etc.). In addition to his 17 years of experience in international business, he has successfully resolved more than 200 mediations in international commercial and civil disputes as well as cross-border disputes. He has facilitated and represented clients in over 170 international negotiations in the EU, UK, Russia, Western Balkans, Kazakhstan, Georgia and Turkey. He is also the President of the Slovenian Mediators Association, a member of the Expert Council for Alternative Dispute Resolution at the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Slovenia and a selected external mediator and negotiator for some major companies and organisations.

This differs from mediation in that it does not follow the prescribed stages of the process, but is still a negotiation process. Due to his extensive experience, Aleksander Jakobčič is often a sought-after lecturer and trainer of negotiators and mediators in international companies and other organisations. In his lectures and trainings, he combines both the latest theoretical and academic knowledge and extensive experience in the field of dispute resolution and negotiation. He has lectured to many negotiators, mediators and other professionals in Slovenia, the UK, Germany, Austria, Montenegro and Ukraine.
